Global Mobility with Cardiff University

The OIA actively promotes different ways of participating in international collaboration, such as “short-term research exchange” and “co-supervision”. We specifically interviewed faculty and students from both Taiwan and the UK who participated in the “Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Project,” producing a video to highlight their global exchange experiences. Please find the link to the video below:

NTPU collaborated with Cardiff University in 2022 to sign an Inter-institutional agreement focusing on Urban Sustainability. This project fosters research collaboration among faculty and graduate students from both institutions participating in the bilateral short-term research exchange in 2023. Unlike the exchange student program, the short-term research exchange emphasizes the research aspect, with joint supervision from faculty members at NTPU and Cardiff University. Local supervisors guide students to complete their theses, while overseas supervisors gives them advice on how to conduct investigations during their fieldwork in different parts of the world. This opportunity also enables students to immerse themselves in different cultures and gain more ideas for their research.

The OIA actively seeks diverse global opportunities in research, study, and teaching for NTPU faculty and students. We hope to present NTPU’s inaugural participation in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Project as an example for future international cooperation projects. As mentioned in the video, we believe that international exchange is not as complex as one might imagine. The OIA therefore encourages all faculty and students to participate in the global mobility program.
